"I teach a 2nd and 3rd grade self-contained special education class in a high-need New York public school. I have a variety of disabilities in my classroom.

Where are the arts? Last year, my students did not have the opportunity to learn art or music. This year, I want to take matters into my own hands and expose my students to art and music.

Music and art could open new connections for my students and give them a sense of success, community, and enjoyment. Music and art serves as a prime resource to build motor skills, coordination, aestheticism and self-expression. My students would also benefit academically because music and art (rhythm and patterns especially) could help my students learn math and literacy.

My students deserve to have musical instruments and art supplies. Help make it a reality!

My students need recorders, a recorder fingering chart, and art supplies. The cost of this proposal is $308, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."

Dear Shahar, Justin, TheCurateur, Kristin, Sandi, Norris, Ms. Jada, Wachovia and Anonymous Donor,
I am very pleased and excited to find that my project has been funded. Thank you very much for your donation! My students will be so excited when their materials arrive. Supplies such as these are rare for the students to have and they will benefit form being exposed to art and music. Once again, thank you for donating.

Sincerely,
