My students need to have more interesting character education celebrations than they are being offered. Our school is in need of the video equipment to record students acting out character traits to share at the celebrations.

Our school district is rural with a large amount of free/reduced lunch students. For many of these students the only morals or values they are being taught is at school. We have created a new character education program to hopefully engage our students in knowing right from wrong and learning life skills in the process.

We have decided a fun way to integrate this new curriculum, that we are trying to create with no funds, would be to celebrate a different character trait each month. In doing so students will be recognized for representing a specific trait (respect, honesty, etc.) The celebration would also be a time where we could show videos and pictures of students actually doing the right thing.

We need a camcorder so we can record students learning about the character traits. We believe including our students in the celebrations will make them more interested in not only doing the right thing but reinforce the trait by seeing others doing so.

With your help our students can just not be entertained but learn valuable life lessons through the videos we can share with them. So many of our students need this extra reassurance of doing the right thing in life is essential to succeeding. We believe through this Character Education program we can create an atmosphere of instilling morals and values to the students.
