Healthy Choices Save Lives

My students need 45 copies of Current Health. Believe it or not, health is NOT included in the topics that I am supposed to teach! Yet my students are already involved with sex, alcohol, drugs, and violence. I think health education is a priority!

Inner city middle schoolers who see drugs, alcoholism, and violence on a daily basis...A classmate on home instruction because he was shot - by an 8th grader...Another 8th grader sitting in class- pregnant. This is our reality. Yet Health ISN'T part of our curriculum?

As a Middle School science teacher I see the choices my students are making. I see the challenges facing them in their environment. Our district may not feel Health is important, but I sure do!

Current Health is a teen-friendly magazine written to appeal to that age group. Its topics are relevant. The issues are important. Its information that truly could save, or at least improve, lives.

I can't afford their subscriptions, and my students certainly can't. Please help my students gain access to a resource that will help convince them that their health and well-being IS important! They are tired of hearing ME tell them - maybe they will listen to the teens featured in Current Health.
