Welcome to Sixth Grade! I teach reading and science in a rural Title I school. Funds are very limited and it can be difficult acquiring money for the essential materials in the classroom. Our school has a high population of ELL (English Language Learners) and Special Education students.

Teaching science and reading can be a difficult task when using only the textbook! I have used an LCD projector in my classroom that was supplied by the textbook company--which was great! Unfortunately, months after getting the projector installed it began to go out unexpectedly during science research presentations, teacher instruction, and United Streaming videos. How disappointing--for myself and the students!

Technology is an essential aspect of teaching our students today. With your help, I will be able to use the LCD projector to bring the world to my students. From going on virtual field trips, Google Earth, or creating PowerPoint presentations, my students will have access to a multitude of resources that will enhance their technology skills.

With your donation, you will make science and reading come alive for my students! Over 100 students this year could have access to free United Streaming videos related to the Alabama Course of Study for Science. Since buying VHS and DVDs can be highly expensive, free videos online is a bargain! Also, your donation will allow me to teach using interactive slideshows that will enhance students learning--instead of the usual 'turn to page 199 in the textbook'! Any donation will be appreciated!
