Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 25 first graders in a collaborative team teaching classroom. My class is a combination of special needs students and regular education students.

My goal this year is to incorporate as many field trips as possible in order to create shared experiences which translate into learning experiences in the classroom. I have planned neighborhood walks and visits to nearby places of interest. But I have a vision of a fantastic experience that is financially out of reach of all my children--the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.

I know that virtually none of my students, despite living in New York, have seen Radio City Music Hall from the outside, let alone the inside! Seeing the iconic Rockettes performing in the Christmas Spectacular will be an experience my students will never forget. It will allow them, as New Yorkers themselves, to participate in a unique New York City event. I can't even imagine their joy without tearing up a bit myself.

It is only with your help that my students will have the chance to experience this spectacular event that will live in their hearts and minds forever!
