I Can't Find the Book!

I teach 6th grade in a high need Chicago Public School. I have 28 students and teach all subjects to my students.

I have been supplied with baskets to put books in, but I do not have adequate shelving for them. The book cases I currently have are 6 shelved and the students have a difficult time reaching books on the top two shelves. The tall bookcases also take up a lot of classroom space as well as block natural light and air into the room. The current bookcases are also old, bent and some are missing shelves.

These bookcases would assist my students in being able to browse the classroom library in a safe and easy manner. The books can be displayed at eye level and not take away from the overall space of the classroom.

You will make it possible for my students to enjoy library time. The library will be organized in a way that they can maneuver through the books and safely enjoy reading.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
