"I teach AP Chemistry in a low-income school in Oregon. Most of my students are Seniors who have already taken first year chemistry. Students who take my class are usually dedicated and focused, but still struggle with the issues surrounding a low-income setting.
It's really hard to make something like chemistry something my students can relate to. Sure, its everywhere around them, but they need concrete examples to grab their attention. Demonstrations and cool labs can only take you so far.
To round out the learning experience and help students get a better grasp of how chemistry affects the world around them, I would like to get copies of the book "Napoleon's Buttons". This is a phenomenal book that shows how chemistry has shaped history in so many ways.
Your donations will truly help my students more than you can believe. We are a small school in a secluded area and often get passed over for grant money from large corporations. Not only will these books help my students, but they will help them realize that others outside our community care for them.
My students need 20 copies of the book "Napoleon's Buttons".

Dear Cash4Books.net and Dean,
Wow! I am amazed at how quickly this request was funded. I'm so excited to be able to get these books to my students this soon in the year. It is really hard for me to completely express the full depths of my gratitude to everyone who made a donation! My students are already excited about chemistry, but the stories contained in these books that you have provided will bring in a new aspect of sincerity that only history can provide. With your something as simple as generosity, you have opened up more windows than you can even imagine. Once again, my deepest gratitude, on my behalf, and on behalf of my students.
On Nov 24, 2008, Mr. J. followed this note with student letters sent via mail to the donor who completed this project, and to donors who gave $100 or more.
Reviewed the project essay and sent follow-up questions if needed.

"Chemistry is a magnificent subject. It's ability to brilliantly explain our world is simply fascinating. I hope these explanations are useful in developing student's love for the subject!"
