Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a fourth grade inclusion (special ed students with general ed students in class), teacher in an urban school setting. I enjoy bringing technology into the classroom but at times it gets a little chaotic having students gather around a small computer monitor or around my laptop so that students can look at a video or a lesson. I like to bring in different types of media into the classroom especially to meet the needs of each individual learning style.

My students enjoy when they get to show a website that they found pertaining to the lesson that we are teaching. My students also enjoy gathering around the computer but at times there is pushing or hitting because someone is blocking the screen or a small child looses out because they can't see the screen.

I am asking for a multimedia projector. At times it is difficult to show them websites such as all about world geography or how to fold geometrical shapes. Since we only have one television and VCR for ten classrooms to share I also use the computer to show videos to my students.

I know my students will be very excited and through the help of your donations we can even expand on a classroom newspaper. The students will not only be able to brainstorm ideas but can actually help put the newspaper together.
