I teach sixth grade art at a unique Title I public school in a large city in New York. Our school is unique because it is the only school in the country with a Wildlife Conservation theme were students learn about conservation.

"How do I draw that?" Is a question I must answer everyday. I want my students to learn how to draw by trying on their own, but often an example is all they need. I do not always have examples for my students to look at when they want to draw a certain animal. "I am finished, now what do I do?" Is another question I hear. I have some how to draw books that my students like to look at, but not enough to go around.

Since we are a Wildlife Conservation School my students are often asked to draw animals. The animal books I chosen will allow my students to have a visual to look at to help them draw animals in a more realistic way. The other books I requested are drawing books that will help my students have a better understanding of art that they enjoy such as comic books and hip hop art. The students will have access to these books when they have completed a project early. These books would make a great addition to my art library so the students are able to read and look at example of art that interests them.
