Projecting To See, Believe, And Understand

My special needs students need a SVGA Multimedia Projector.

As the teacher of a special third grade inclusion class in rural Mississippi that includes diagnosis's such as attention deficit disorder, autism, dyslexia and educational mental retardation, require visual representation of all concepts presented in the classroom.

All students benefit from multi-sensory teaching methods. Special needs students require the utilization of multiple senses to comprehend new concepts. Many students are visual learners with attention deficits. However, visual leaning aides, such as projectors, are not readily available to this school.

A projector is greatly needed in order to free up the teacher to work individually with at-risk students while the problems are illustrated via the projector, thus limiting the quantity of teacher written problems. Another essential usage of the projector entails large visuals of graphic organizers for reading, manipulations and problems in math, and power points for thematic units in science and social studies. A projector would be greatly beneficial to the special needs students, as well as the regular education students, in the third grade inclusion classroom. Having the capability to frequently change visuals provided by the projector will greatly enhance student participation and the attention span of the students.

Thanks to your support, my students that have significant learning disabilities will have a greater chance of seeing and believing in their success.
