I teach in an inner-city school in New York state. My students are members of a high-need community, many living in high-poverty neighborhoods. These students are eager to learn and make a difference within themselves and their families. The vast majority of these students are college bound, seeking an education that will prepare them for the future.

I do no have one classroom that I teach out of. I work in two to three different classrooms each day. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard available for use. The teachers that use these boards have a laptop hooked into them. Since I am not working in that room daily, I use my own computer to provide the students with lessons on the interactive board. Over the summer, my computer acquired a virus and I will not be able to use it this year. The students are more involved and interested in learning when the whiteboard is used for their lessons.

If provided with a computer, I will be able to install software for each of the interactive whiteboards and provide the students with lessons that engage them to a higher level. Using the computer, the students will be able to teach one another and do presentations for the class.

With your help, these students will be able to learn using technology of the newest level. These students are grateful for the support and help that I provide them, and I can assure you that this will be passed along to any donors who can contribute to our classrooms.
