Creative creations from the classroom?? Is it really possible? Why yes it is! I am a fourth grade teacher of extremely imaginative students in a middle of the road school.

I teach fourth grade and the students are learning how to use technology in all subject areas. The students know how to create movies in iMovie. They create a movie based on the subject studying to share with the class. They are very creative and would love to be able to save their work to an external hard drive, or be able to burn their work to a DVD to share with other classes. As of now there is no way to save their work. We also have very little display areas outside our classroom to share what we are learning as a class with the community or with parents. We do have a classroom podcast but many students do not have access to it. It would be wonderful to be able to send home an ipod Nano so that they could listen to the podcast at home with their family.

Creating iMovies takes up a lot of computer space and by having different ways to save their work for future classes, and for them to keep, allows excitement to brew and a purpose to grow in their hearts and minds. An external hard drive and DVD burner allows the students to save and have their work. The iPod Nano allows my students to listen to our classroom podcast at home with their parents. The digital frame allows me as a teacher to post their work in a small space in our school for parents and community volunteers to see what is going on in our classroom. What a neat way to share learning with other people!!

As a teacher I know that I am preparing students for jobs that have not even been invented yet. By placing technology in the hands of students allows them to create and apply their understanding of a subject. Their interest in the subject grows as does the different people who see what the students are learning. Please invest in the lives of students. By your investment you will bless society in profound ways that will effect our future. Every investment in the life of a student will reap huge dividends.
