My students need a DVD Camcorder and 20 mini DVDs to record skits, plays, commercials and other presentational activities to practice their Spanish skills.

I am blessed to teach High School Spanish to highly talented and gifted college bound students in a multicultural, high-need community in Wisconsin. My students are our future world leaders! Several of these students are English Language Learners who are learning their third or fourth language! Unfortunately, many of these students come from low-income families. These students deserve to have the same opportunities that students from higher income families have.

My students love creating presentations in Spanish but never have the ability to record their productions because they do not have the necessary resources. Our library has an old VHS camcorder that rarely works for the students to use. This is old, obsolete and unreliable technology.

We need a DVD Camcorder and mini DVDs to be able to record student productions. Recording the productions allow the students to watch and listen for their pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary errors and correcting the errors before presenting their production to class. Self and peer correction is essential in early language acquisition. Plus, video projects are fun to create and watch!
