Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We are passionate 5th grade students living in a Latino socially economically disadvantaged community.

My students love to read, but they especially love being read to. I teach 5th grade students who are reading more than 2 years below grade level. They have made great strides, but due to their late start in reading they can not read great works of literature on their own.

The next best thing is books on CD! Books on CD will narrate great works of literature to my students. This will provide great background knowledge and aide students with reading fluency. Therefore we need portable CD players in order to have students follow along to books on CD.

You will make it possible for my students to listen to great works of literature. With this donation every time one of my students listens to a book on CD it will be as if you were reading to them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
