The Effective Classroom Library

My classroom library needs 44 paperback books, from a number popular series, including the DK Eyewitness Books series.

I teach third grade students in a full inclusion setting (regular education and learning disabled students) in a low income school. Many of the parents cannot donate items or purchase books for our class. Our district provides very little funding - all monies received go to basic supplies such as paper, pencils, and crayons.

My students love to read! We all enjoy reading Magic School Bus books, hilarious adventure stories, and cool facts about the world around us!

Simply stated: I need great books for a great classroom library. My students crave the new stories, adventures, and the learning that a classroom library can offer. Reading is the heart of classroom instruction. Students who are great readers will succeed academically and in life.

Your donation and assistance will make a third graders' classroom library come to life! You have the chance to impact many young lives at a critical time - third grade is a special moment when students are shifting from "learning to read" to "reading to learn".
