My students need an easy and cost effective way of taking videos and uploading them to a computer, where they can be used in multimedia presentations.

I teach Information Technology at a rural school district, and have 9th through 12th grade. I want to motivate my students to become aware of new technology, and this is often difficult due to lack of resources. I will be teaching an Interactive Digital Media class this Fall, and am trying to build a set of tools to present to the students so that they can build, and enjoy, successful multimedia projects.

The students are all interested in using the latest technology, especially where it involves creating projects that tell stories. A simple, cost effective video tool would greatly enhance their understanding of the media and the simplicity of creating interactive projects with software tools freely available as open source. The difficulty is that we lack the funding to make these valuable additions to our teaching tool set.

The Flip Video would be an awesome contribution to the classroom, and enable the students to easily develop and share class videos on web pages, powerpoints and software coding projects. It is small, easy to use and a hot new item that would encourage and motivate them to create their projects.

Your support would ensure that my students have an extra item in class to use to develop their imagination and computing repertoire. A tool such as the Flip video I have requested would encourage them to use their creativity to add imagery to projects, and thus makes digital multimedia come alive.
