PE is Important, Too!

My kindergarten students need materials for outdoor play. Materials I believe would be great for the needs of my students are cones and potato sacks for playing relay games, plastic hoops, juggling scarves and spinning plates for circus activities, a ring toss game, a horseshoe game, scooters, and a bowling set for small group play.

Kindergarteners need to play outside with appropriate materials. We are a high need community whose children need outdoor experiences to develop gross motor skills as well as positive social skills.

Our Kindergarten program does not have enough equipment to keep our students occupied at recess. As a teacher I would like to facilitate organized outdoor activities for my students.

With appropriate outdoor games and equipment, my students will be engaged in physical education instead of resorting to games of "chase" and acting out media violence. Less feelings hurt and more positive relationships is our potential outcome.

You will make it possible for my students to experience organized sports/games that they might not get to be involved in outside of school. Many of their parents work two jobs or are single parents and do not have time to involve their children in extracurricular sports/activities.
