Pleased to Meet You! We are a 5th grade Spanish Dual Immersion class with a high population of English Language Learners and a love of writing.

Each afternoon our class meets on the rug, armed with their writer's notebooks. Their worlds come alive on the pages as we jot personal moments, expand them into full-fledged stories, or read novels and explore characters, plots, and themes. It's finding the right words that can hold them back and expressing exactly what they want to say without being redundant. Currently, there are only enough thesauruses for 1/3 of the class and they are falling apart with ripped binding and pages.

Having a set of thesauruses for our entire class to use would create an opportunity for all the students to expand their written and verbal vocabularies. Without needing to search for missing pages and wait to borrow from another student, each child's words can flow right from their pen!

Your help will make it possible for this group of fifth graders, and students for years to come, take their writing to new levels and take risks with words.
