"I touch the future, I teach." I am a new Kindergarten teacher in a rural Oklahoma school with a small budget. I want my students to have the same tools for success that any other classroom in a wealthier area would have.

My classroom has very little in the way of supplies. The students should not suffer because I am a new teacher with not enough to offer financially. My students need many items so that we can create learning centers that will be used on a daily basis.

My students need a listening center including a boombox, headphones, and books on tape. These items are very important to their reading success. They need a sensory center table that can be filled with sand and water, and they need a rug for our literacy center so that they have a comfy place to curl up with a book.

You will make it possible for me to carry out my vision to provide rural students with a culturally rich environment. The materials you provide us will be the foundation of our classroom centers. These learning centers will be a major part of our daily curriculum.
