Great Start for First Grade

My students need 24 view binders, 3 sets of primary writing journals, 1 box of sheet protectors, and 24 pencil pouches.

My students desperately need to start the school year off right! I work with low-income first grade students in a rural community. My class is one of 14 first grade classrooms in our Title 1 school.

I am trying to find a way to help cut school costs when the families in my community are fighting to keep their heads above water and the cost of gas!

The 3-ring binders, pencil pouches, and page protectors serve as my student's homework folders and also assist with parent/teacher communications. The folders also help to teach organization at an early age and keep the doors of communication open from day one. The composition books serve as a daily journal that provides a space at the top for illustrations. The students always enjoy writing about items presented on Mystery Monday and other very interesting days during the week.

Your help will ensure that my students begin their first grade year with the tools for organization and communication instead of lost papers and confusion. The students will enjoy decorating a folder cover to go in the front of their binder to show their pride in having so many nice supplies to work with.
