It's a new day and a new way to engage students in a brand new learning experience and environment. I am an eighth grade teacher of Math and Science. This year as a "turn around" school, students will be under a brand new administration, staff and teachers. We are committed to a brand new culture and climate of excellence. My students are going to learn the value of learning and the importance of being committed to performing academic excellence.

Eighth grade students need to be prepared for high school and are at an age where they have to begin to make their own choices about their lives. However, they still need and want guidance. After spending many years in an under-performing school, students need a brand new academic and social culture.

With a brand new team entirely comprised with a brand new level of commitment to the equitable opportunity that students deserve, this resource would benefit efforts to construct the culture and environment students and teachers alike need to drive home the school's motto of expecting excellence everyday. If each student has a flash drive to save their learning, they will be able to monitor the development of their work, have access to their work other than on a single computer hard drive and access to their work outside of class.

There is a saying that says "it takes a village to raise a child", and we need you to be a part of that change. It is so important that they understand someone does care and that they do have a choice.
