Good Day! Thank you for viewing my submission. I am trying to obtain Weekly Reader for my second graders. We would like to read this newspaper once a week in the classroom. I teach for an inner city school and these children do not have a great deal of opportunities to experience the news and gain information relevant to their lives. Weekly Reader will bring my inner city kids closer to children around the world. It will expose them to events occurring everywhere that may effect their lives. Not to mention meeting state standards in education. Weekly Reader will bring language arts, science, math, social studies and reading to the classroom in a different setting. We will be able to sit weekly and read our newspaper. We will be able to discuss events taking place and learn about animals. This is a marvelous newspaper for children. It encourages the children to read and helps them learn about the world around them. My 'kids' will have a better chance at success when they are exposed to news and events that are occurring in the present. Weekly Reader will allow me to increase the teachable moments in the classroom and expose the children to what is happening in the world. Thank you for considering helping my classroom.
