I teach a special education preschool class in rural North Carolina. Children in my class are 3, 4, and 5 years old with diagnosed delays or disabilities.

In my class we have the basic supplies we need to play and learn, but we lack a standardized way to measure progress. All of the children have Individualized Education Plans with child specific goals to accomplish during the school year. Many of the children lose skills over the summer and breaks, but to qualify for extra services we have to have documented regression.

To show this regression, I want a way to assess the skills with a learning accomplishment profile evaluation set, periodically throughout the school year and before and after breaks. This way I will have specific documentation to verify that the child needs extra services provided.

Please help these children get all of the help they can at this very important stage in their life. Early intervention is the key, so the more they get at a young age the better off they will be in the future.
