I teach Prek in a public school that is in low socio-economic area. The children come to me with limited vocabulary and literacy experiences.

Many of the children have their first experiences with technology when they come to school. Children are excited to be able to use and learn with technology.

I found a Leapster Technology Center. This includes 5 leapsters, headphones, and cartridges. This will give the children experiences with technology as they increase their vocabulary and phonemic awareness. It will also help the children develop listening skills and comprehension.

You will make it possible for these young children to have literacy experiences by using technology.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
