I teach a class of twenty 4 year olds, all of whom earn free or reduced lunch. This is a Pre-K class in a public school setting that is growing yearly, so the need is great.

Because all of my students are from low income families, very few of them have a collection of books at home for family members to read to them.

Giving each student a book to keep each month will begin their home library and start them on the road to beginning reading.

Your help will ensure that my students begin to understand beginning reading skills - what a letter is, how letters make sounds, how those sounds join together to make words and how words make a story. And stories can spark the imagination.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
