My students need a new dry eraser white board so they can clearly share and display their mathematical thinking process in front of the classroom so all students can benefit and learn from others.

I teach in a wonderful, rural country school that is over 100 years old. Our students benefit from a tight-knit community who are very involved in our school and it's programs. I teach a combined 4th and 5th grade class, and although our school has a high number of low income families, we pride ourselves on pushing our students to high academic standards.

The dry eraser boards at our school are, well, not dry eraser boards at all. They are shower boards that were installed by the district years ago to save money. However, they are now ineffective, stained with markers, very hard to read for the students, and impossible to clean.

My classroom would love a new dry eraser board. It will have an immediate effect on my students as they will be able to use it everyday to share their mathematical thinking, and clearly see my instructions from their seats. It will also be used to project images on from our LCD projector as well.

A white board is the center of the classroom, it is where the students spend most of their day reading from or writing on. A new white board will not only be a very functional and useful tool for me and my students, it will also brighten up our room, giving students more pride in their classroom. Your help will make it possible for students to clearly see instructions and lessons that I write on the white board. Your help will also make it possible for my students to effectively use the white board themselves, expressing their ideas and thoughts for all to see.
