Help bring the first grade in to the 21st century by banishing the overhead from our classroom with a beautiful new document reader.

My students are in a high-poverty area with very little in the way of "extras," and are usually newly arrived to America. My wonderful school does what it can to provide the things the children need, but there isn't a lot of room in our budget for the really terrific "extras." We try to spend our money on quality professional development for our educators (I first saw the document reader in use at the Columbia Teachers' College Writing Intensive), thus we lack funds for superior technology resources.

My multilingual English Language Learner first grade class will love seeing the beloved books of your childhood, "up close and personal." What a wonderful way to introduce "Caps for Sale," "Bread and Jam for Frances," and "Make Way for Ducklings" to a new generation of book lovers!
