I am a second-year teacher teaching high school band, chorus, flagline, and drumline (all grades) in a very low socio-economic school. I had tremendous success last year building a foundation for a band. Things are getting better all the time. In fact, things are so good, I had 50 extra people signed up for band and I have NO extra instruments! Help!

Many of my students have no self-confidence and often look to gangs for social acceptance. There is another way - belong to a BAND!!! A group like a band hangs out all of the time in the fall and they grow very close. They learn to rely on and trust each other. It is a beautiful thing!

I need instruments of every kind so that my students may mimic the bands they so admire. They love to high-step and play popular songs on the radio.

You help will ensure that my students feel the exhilaration of success. Success is something that most of us are familiar with. We cannot forget that some people have never really felt accepted. Being a part of band allows them this privilege. I need them as much as they need music!
