Who says that student's can't learn by playing a game? This will be my second year teaching, and I am switching from Kindergarten to Second grade. I teach at a very diverse school in Northern California. While we are a small school, we have over 13 different languages spoken by our students and their families. I feel very lucky to be surrounded by so much culture and diversity!

Since I am relatively new to teaching, and VERY new to second grade, I am facing the challenge of needing things for my classroom, but not having the funds to purchase them. I am a teacher who likes to provide as many different learning mediums as possible, and feel that providing educational games is an extremely important tool for the students.

The resources that I need are educational games. Each set of board games addresses a different, essential 2nd grade skill- Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Math and Science. If I had these games in my classroom, it would help reiterate the information that was taught through the core curriculum.

With your help, students will be able to see that learning can be fun and when they are open to learning, a whole new world opens to them.
