I teach a combination three and four year old child development class in a rural school in South Carolina. I teach twenty children all subject areas - language arts, science, math, music, art, drama, physical activity, and health. All of my students, currently and in the future, will participate in this endeavor. I want my students to have more resources readily available to them to encourage inquiry into topics that intrigue them.

Dramatic play is essential to the early childhood classroom. Currently, my students are playing in a "kitchen area" that is outdated and old. Their wooden appliances and furniture have no handles anymore. They need updated, colorful furniture to attract them to have tea parties, dinner parties, birthday parties, and a "home life" at school. I want them to have updated supplies so that they can share with each other their unique home and family routines.

I would love to have new, updated kitchen furniture for my dramatic play center so that it can be revived for my students! They enjoy dressing up and having "parties." I want them to have the furniture that matches their enthusiasm for dramatic play. If we had updated, colorful furniture, it would draw more children to play in the housekeeping/dramatic play center. This will not only benefit my current students, but future students for years to come!

Through your support, you will help my students learn more and act out social situations that occur in the family. You will also help update this center and replace old, run-down furniture that turns children off from playing in this center. Help bring a new kitchen to the young children in my classroom!
