I teach 5th grade in a self-contained classroom in Arizona. We are always working on vocabulary building in my classroom. We love words!

The dictionaries I have in my room are ones that I scrounged from various places. They are not in the best shape, are different publishers/editions, and are outdated. We work a lot on vocabulary development and dictionary skills in fifth grade. I would like to be able to do whole class lessons using the dictionary to discuss root words, forms of words, word origins, and other vocabulary lessons.

It would be so wonderful to have a class set of dictionaries that are all the same, so that all students are able to use one at the same time for lessons.

I would be so appreciative if some kind donor would fund this proposal. The dictionaries would get used every day all year long in my classroom. You can help my students build a great vocabulary. Thank you for considering this proposal!
