Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach fourth grade in the Bronx. I want to take two classes of students to meet the four Ambassador Wolves of the Wolf Conservation Center. My class of fourth graders this year are eager learners and great students. Every year we study wolves to practice our reading, learn about wolves' behavior as well as the environment. My students are fascinated with wolves: their beauty, their intelligence and the challenges they face in their struggle to survive and raise their young. My students are always very excited and highly engaged with our study of wolves. Our culminating activity for our unit of study on wolves is to travel to the Wolf Conservation Center to meet the Ambassador Wolves up close and personal! This visit will provide my students the opportunity to observe the wolves' behavior and the characteristics we have studied. My students are thrilled to see actual wolves. We are seeking support for the bus rental and admission to the Wolf Conservation Center. Wolves provide a terrific motivation for our students to read, study science and the environment. And there is nothing more exciting for kids (and the adults!) to observe real wolves, to compare what we have learned to wolves' behavior. Help me introduce my students to the four Ambassador Wolves of the Wolf Conservation Center. They've never seen anything like it!
