I am music specialist in Texas at an elementary school and I teach grades K-5. My school has around 400 students, and I see 6 classes a day each with 40 students in it.

At my school, I see each student twice a week. My students LOVE playing instruments and I love teaching them how to play numerous instruments. However, with the large amount of students, there is always a line of at least 3 to 4 students waiting to play an instrument (and I have every instrument out there). I would love to have more instruments so that each student can receive more time playing an instrument.

Any addition to the classroom instrument collection is welcomed and well used. I would love to add an alto-tenor xylophone and an alto glockenspiel. This will add at least 3 more playing stations for the students. This project will benefit the students in many ways. By playing a music instrument, students learn discipline, respect, and important social skills; along with learning and appreciating music. Playing an instrument is so exciting for a young child and many musical concepts can be taught and/or reinforced.

Students really enjoying playing musical instruments, and I want to help further that enjoyment. Your help will not only help teach discipline, respect, and social skills, but it will also teach the appreciation and fun of music!
