In need of "FAT" test scores in reading for all third grade students! I am a teacher of third grade in a Title I school located in a very rural farm community. Additionally, we are considered a very poor county and not much money is provided beyond textbooks.

For 6 years now, I have seen an increase in my end of the year test scores in Reading and Math, but I still am not satisfied with the percentage. Although I teach using hands-on approaches and less emphasis on textbooks, I am still in need of more. Several students have mentioned they like the immediate feedback of various software programs our school uses and it brought to mind the "Hot Dots." I have many students who finish their work early with "nothing" to do and this would be perfect. My students always want to do more work, but I am not always available to give immediate feedback and affirm correctness.

I believe "Hot Dots" is the solution I am looking for. Students could use them in the classroom learning centers or as an "at your seat" activity when they finish their seat work early. The "Hot Dots" electronic flash cards will provide immediate feedback on correct or incorrect answers of the students and also provide students with repetition of skills needed to become better readers and better mathematicians, as well as increased confidence of their learning.

With your help, you can make it possible for my students to soar at the end of the year on their tests. They will be excited about learning and will want to do more and more reading and math problems using the "Hot Dots" and will feel confident about their learning. Please help me to accomplish this task for my students.
