I teach High School Art at a K-12 title 1 school in Kansas. Most of our students are at risk, and the opportunity to get an art education has not only helped them in their learning but has also enhanced their self-esteem.

I find that a lot of our students have never been to an art museum before my class. I think it is so important to teach them about current artists, local artists, and of course the masters.

The library donated a couple hundred books to my department. This will be a wonderful resource for the students to learn about and research artists. I would like to use these books not only as a reference but to learn about artists and styles before we take our trip to the art museum. I only have one problem - I have no place to put these books. I would like to get 2 bookshelves to place in my classroom so my students will have easy access to these books at any time. These books will act as a reference for ideas and projects as well as a rich resource for learning about artists and various art styles.

With your help I will be able to have a place to keep the wonderful donated art books from the library. Students will have easy access to these books because they will be on a shelf in their art room.
