My 3rd grade students need 65 student planners to help with the organization process necessary in the transition from the primary grades to the intermediate grades.

I am a 3rd grade teacher in a low-income school district in North Carolina. The cost of everything these days is astronomical, including the cost of classroom supplies.

Organization is a very important skill for all students to have; especially students who will have to perform on standardized tests for the first time in their lives. I want to teach and or continue to encourage the use of organization in order to be successful in everything that my students do.

The most important resource that my students will benefit from to help in the organization process will be student planners - a place where students will keep track of required assignments and important dates. I will be modeling how to properly use a student planner as well as discussing its importance. Not only will my students always know what homework/other assignments they have (and their due dates) but parents will be able to be kept informed of their child's required work. The parents can also jot down notes or comments they have for me and vice verse. Keeping the lines of communication open are very important as well.

Through your generous and thoughtful donation, the third grade students at my school will be on the right track to organization which will help lead them to a successful year.
