This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
The school motto is Destination Graduation, but in the classroom organization is our destination. Help us get organized and learn at the same time.
I am a first year teacher and my students are Kindergartners. I teach in a Title I school. Our mission is to help all students be successful as they move from one grade to another and in the end reach Destination Graduation.
As a first year teacher my resources and funds are limited. One resource we are missing happens to be storage space. There is hardly any space to store all of the learning/carpet time materials, books, andcenters that we use on a daily basis. Right now a table or the floor is our storage. I frequently find myself gathering materials from all over room for carpet time and the students doing the same for center materials. This takes away from instruction time and stops the flow of learning. As anyone knows, disorganization can lead to total chaos, especially with this age group.
We need a unit that can store all of our learning materials/supplies in one place. Lakeshore has a Store It All Center that will hold all the things we use each day. It will house all our materials, supplies, books, charts, and centers. It also has a magnetic white board and felt board for storytelling, which the students love. This will definitely help me bring the classics to life such as The Three Bears, Hungry Caterpillar and many more. Everything we need for carpet time and center time will be right at our fingertips. I won't have to interrupt the lesson to find needed materials and students won't have to disrupt class when trying to locate center materials. Students will be able to reap the full benefits of carpet time and make the most of center time. Time will no longer be wasted on finding materials/supplies and getting students back on track. The focus will be on learning.
This Organization Station will definitely help us reach our Destination. Your help will ensure that everything we need for learning is right within reach. Organization makes a huge difference in the learning process. It is one of the best skills a student can learn and as a new teacher organization is key to my success and the students.
