This year we are starting a new curriculum that focuses on building number sense through daily hands on experiences. However, we do not have many of the materials that are needed to complete and reinforce the lessons effectively. I decided to write this grant in the hopes of providing my students with attribute blocks to study shapes and build descriptive vocabulary, pattern blocks to study patterns, shapes, colors, and spatial relations, and trays, stickers and activity cards to reinforce the learning. I am also requesting dominoes for number sense and addition activities, two color counters, bean counters, and colored craft sticks for counting practice and math stories. Please help my students maximize their learning by providing these tactile math materials. You can touch the future! My math students need a variety of manipulatives, including wooden pattern blocks, activity cards, plastic trays, pattern block stickers, bean and two-color counters, dominoes, attribute blocks, and colored craft sticks.
