This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hello! I am a third grade teacher in Brooklyn, New York. I teach in a high poverty, Title 1 school. Many of my students are English Language Learners.

The third grade is a difficult grade for children because it is the first year they are faced with standardized tests. The Reading and Math State Tests incorporate reading, math and writing. Preparing for the State Tests can be a daunting, time consuming task. Most test preparation booklets take 40 - 50 minutes to complete.

Lakeshore Learning makes test preparation books in reading, math and writing. These books focus on the skills necessary for the test in a daily question form. With these books my students will be able to get their test preparation in a daily, less time consuming way.

They will be able to see the skills taught as a part of their everyday lives. These test preparation books will help my students succeed on the third grade state tests. Thank you for your consideration.
