Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

It is imperative for young children to be exposed to the modern and commonly used technology of today. As a first grade teacher, I often encounter excitement when technology is used for classroom purposes. It would be a nice sense of ownership if the students had their own class camera/camcorder.

First graders often write better when they can relate to the material. Being able to take self pride in an accomplishment also drives the work ethic, as well as self responsibility. The classroom could greatly benefit from having it's own digital camera and camcorder.

Our classroom could really benefit from having a digital camera and camcorder. The technology would be incorporated in writing, where students can photograph an image, print and then write a story based upon their own picture taken. The camcorder would be used to record and distribute class plays, puppet shows, performances, and other special events. With a camcorder students can even hear their own reading expression and fluency, helping them better understand the importance of the two.

Technology is always the way of the future. The earlier children are exposed to it, the easier it is to encourage creativity and intrigue. Our classroom would be capable of creating more projects and stepping into the inevitable future!
