"I am a Special Education Resource Teacher for grades K-4th and 6th grade. My students have learning disabilities which make learning concepts, especially in math difficult.

Show us the money! Show us the "play" money! My students need to learn how to count money, and what better tool could they use to help them understand the value of money is by using hands on materials.

With these money math manipulative's, my students can learn how to count, add, subtract and "play" with money. We will use these manipulative's to help us with our classwork as well as set up interactive stores where students can practice adding items, counting their money and making sure they get the correct change back.

Remember how much fun you had as a kid playing store? That's the kind of joy you can bring to my students if you "show them the money!" You will help ensure my students learn the value of a dollar and make sure that they will be able to correctly count money.

My students need math manipulatives including play money, a cash register, and games to help them understand the value of money. The cost of this proposal is $278, which includes shipping for any materials requested and fulfillment ?."

Dear Motley Fool,

My students and I cannot thank you enough for the generous donation that you made to us! My students were truly delighted to learn that we were going to have money manipulative's for them to use to learn how to count money. My students were truly excited and surprised that someone "who doesn't even know us" cared enough about their education.

My students used the money manipulative's to complete a wallet project. The project was entitled "What's in your wallet?" and incorporated all the manipulative's that you had purchased for us. First the students constructed paper wallets out of construction paper. Using riddles from the teachers manual that came with the larger money set, students solved them with the coins and then stamped the answers onto the inside of their wallets. The students then decorated the outside of the wallet with the riddle so that students walking by our bulletin board would have to open them to find the answer. My students have a terrific time using the manipulative's to find the answer.

Once again, thank you for your kindness and charity. You have truly touched my heart and the hearts of my students.

With gratitude,
Mrs. L.

Dear Motley Fool,

Thank you so much for supporting my project! My students will be thrilled to be able to "play" with money and use hands on manipulatives to help them learn. They will be most excited to play store in my room using the cash register and classroom materials to go shopping. They will be able to count how much money they have, how much money they can spend and how much change they get back. You have given them access to materials that will help them learn a life skill. Thank you so much!!

With gratitude,
Mrs. L.
