My students need 35 calculators to fully participate in a career simulation program known as "The Real Game, California." The program is designed to help eighth grade students get a head start on career planning as they ready to transition into high school.

Leadership students learn how to set career goals to better plan for future success.

Students will work on developing career plans and goals by managing a "mock" lifestyle. Calculators are needed to successfully compute salary and expenses for their future lifestyle choices.

Students will learn about setting a family budget, how to manage their mock incomes, and set savings goals for their futures.

The mathematics component is critical to my students ability to fulfill participate in the careers program "The Real Game - California." A classroom set of calculators will insure that all students will be full participants in the program requirements.
