Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Going beyond our limitations and doing the imaginable. I teach 25 third graders in a poverty urban area. My students are realizing they can do almost anything. One thing they want to tackle is writing a book and sharing it with younger students.

My students are beginning to write on a daily basis. However, they are limited with the supplies to create school quality works. To encourage their desire to share their own writing, having illustrated stories in a bound book will nurture their desire to write and share.

The resources; journals, color pencils, literature are needed to help my students empower themselves as young authors and share their work with younger students. This project will benefit them by providing an opportunity for my students to use the writing process, inclusive of perfecting their grammar, spelling, and general writing. This project will serve as a springboard to ideas for young authors' week.

Your help will ensure my students will fulfill a desire, dream of becoming an author and entertaining younger students with the sharing of their stories.
