My students need 8 activities to play with during recess, such as games, puzzles, tic-tac-toe, and linking sticks.

I am a second year teacher in an inner city school. We are located in the heart of the city. We service the families of the local homeless shelters. I will be teaching second grade next year and am need of materials for them to use during recess. We have a very high transition rate. I am looking for materials that are enjoyable for the students who are here long term or short term.

We are asking for your help to buy items for the second grade class to use during recess. During the winter or on rainy days the students are limited as to what they are able to do. They soon grow tired of watching yet another video. The students want a chance to play. With your help they will be able to play both indoors or out.

We would LOVE to have floor puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, tic-tac-toe games, and a balancing game. The students will be able to spend recess having fun enjoying their self and using their brain. We need your help to get these materials into their hands.

The students are so tired of watching a video during recess. Can you blame them? I want them to use teamwork, sharing, and their imagination during recess. Not sit there mindlessly staring at the television. Please help us get the materials into their hands that they may otherwise never experience!!
