Science concepts will come alive for our students as they are enthralled by the live animals starring in the Silly Safari Animal Show! They'll have fun with mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and bugs! They'll explore the animals' special adaptations, survival strategies, and habits through theater, interactive play, and hands-on learning. Safari Steve, the performer presenting the animals, will engage the students in a humorous way as he teaches a number of Indiana State Science Standards. We're sure to hear many oohs, ahhhs and giggles as students are entertained and educated! This show will serve as a springboard for numerous reading and writing activities. I teach a great group of first-graders at a high-poverty school serving a homeless shelter. I am excited to bring this amazing live animal show to not only my students, but to all 420 students in grades K-6. Jungle John from Silly Safaris will present a grade-appropriate, standards-based live animal show to each grade level, K-6, separately. This way every child will have a great view of all the critters! For the past two years, thanks to generous DonorsChoose angels, Safari Steve has presented his live animal shows at my school. The students still recount the humorous antics and fascinating animal facts! Numerous photos taken during the performances became the inspiration for many books and posters which are still being enjoyed by our students. This year, Safari Steve can build upon the groundwork laid in previous years as he teaches more in-depth concepts. This show will be a super engaging highlight for all of our students! They will learn, laugh, and be inspired to read and write about animals and science! Thank you for providing our students with this awesome opportunity!
