Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a counselor at a vocational high school in Connecticut. The mission of the Connecticut Technical High School System is to provide a unique and rigorous high school learning environment that ensures both student academic success, and trade/technology mastery and instills a zest for lifelong learning, prepares students for post-secondary education, including apprenticeships, and immediate productive employment, and responds to employers and industries current and emerging and changing global workforce needs and expectations through business/school partnerships

Recently our students have been putting together trade portfolios. These are used to showcase their accomplishments to prospective employers and universities. They will also be able to bring them to our annual career fair. Many of our students do not have the resources to buy the supplies needed for their portfolio.

By providing our students with these supplies they will have the opportunity to put together a portfolio they can be proud of!
