Microphones to Implement Audacity Program

My students need 30 computer microphones.

I welcome technology. I teach 6-8 Communications skills. My school is alternative and located in a high-need community. Since I have limited/little resources, I rely on technology.

Most of my students are sent to my school for academics. Therefore I am given the opportunity to reteach skills in a different and interesting format. My students are musically intelligent hereby I have incorporated music into my lessons. I have recently finished my poetry lesson and my students were excited to learn about the program Audacity. This program allowed me to demonstrate a poem read by me and recorded for the class. They were amazed. I modeled how they could use familiar songs as backgrounds to go with his/her poem.

I need 30 computer microphones for next school year. So when I teach poetry again I can implement my Poetry project using Audacity. This will encourage students who are often assigned to complete a poetry booklet, to complete his/her own CD of poetry. My students will learn how to make music!

Music is a universal teaching tool! Your help will ensure that my students will learn and understand poetry as well as becoming future lyricists.
