I teach AP Biology for Juniors and Seniors. This class is often the first step in the career path for our future doctors and nurses.

My students are required to complete 12 standardized labs from the college board, but the problem with the physiology lab is I don't have the equipment for this lab. In this lab, they need to learn to take the blood pressure of another student, explain what the two numbers of the blood pressure mean and what causes changes in our blood pressure. This year I borrowed supplies from wherever I could, but many did not work. My students were frustrated when they could not do this because of the equipment issues.

Taking blood pressure is a very important skill for students who are planning on going into the medical field. I am hoping to receive 10 sphygmomanometer and stethoscopes to be able to teach the students proper techniques.
