Mrs. Hooten George Buck Elementary School 94
Indianapolis, IN Grades PreK-2

I teach reading recovery for kindergarten through fifth grade students. My students live in a rural area in Indiana. They they have fewer reading skills than their classmates.

I am teaching in a newly created position. Building home resources for my students' needs is very important. My students need a variety of books for reading at their homes. I would love to build their love and interest for reading. Giving them an opportunity to take home books they choose will boost their interest in reading.

Biography, non-fiction, and leveled reading books will increase my students' interest in reading at home. Kindergarten through fifth grade leveled readers are needed for my students.

You can make the difference that my students need. They are low readers, therefore they need every possible opportunity to build their reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Thank you for reading about my students' needs.
