I teach second grade in a low-income school in Illinois. I have a diverse group of learners, and will be teaching in a special education inclusion classroom next year. I am excited about the opportunity to reach all learners and begin to teach diversity and tolerance at a young age.

Since most of my students are low-income and resources are limited, I am having to personally pay for classroom materials. This adds up! My students have expressed interest in a variety of learning centers and these centers are a great way to meet the educational needs and requests of my students.

The learning centers will make it possible for all of my students to grow academically and socially. Students will be able to work at their own pace and will learn to work cooperatively in small groups. The skills they will address reinforce math and reading skills that will build the foundation of learning for the rest of their lives.

Having this donation will significantly impact learning in my classroom. Donations truly make a difference in my classroom and I could not do it without the generosity of others. I would be appreciative of anything my classroom would receive!
